Privacy Policy

Data Processing Agreement & Privacy Safeguards

1. Preamble and Definitions

This Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement") constitutes a binding legal instrument executed by and between the individual utilizing the software (hereinafter referred to as the "User" or "Data Subject") and the software publisher (hereinafter referred to as the "Service Provider"). This document establishes the terms, conditions, and legal parameters governing the capture, transmission, processing, retention, and protection of data generated by the use of the mobile software application (hereinafter referred to as the "Application") and its associated server-side database synchronization utilities (hereinafter referred to as the "Backend Services").

By executing, accessing, or otherwise utilizing the Application, the User hereby provides express, unambiguous, and revocable consent to the processing of personal, technical, and operational data in strict conformance with the terms set forth herein.

2. Scope and Nature of Processed Data

The Service Provider processes data strictly necessary for the execution of the Application's accessibility features, educational interfaces, and media player integrations. The classes of data processed are categorized as follows:

  • User Account Identifiers: In instances where synchronization features are enabled, the Application collects the User's display name, email address, and unique hardware identifier to verify entitlements and manage remote database allocations.
  • User-Generated Content: Course information, assignment submissions, public comments, bookmarks, and user ratings are uploaded to and retained on remote storage infrastructure to maintain the functionality of the educational and media player portals.
  • Transient System and Interface States: Hardware sensor outputs, audio and video streams, geographic coordinates, notification registries, and screen configurations are monitored dynamically to perform user-instructed actions.

3. Covenants of Local-Only Data Processing

Pursuant to the principle of data minimization, the Service Provider covenants that certain sensitive system integrations are executed exclusively within the volatile memory of the User's device. No data processed under this Section is written to persistent logs, stored by the Service Provider, or transmitted to any remote network.

3.1 System Accessibility Interoperability

To facilitate real-time vocal feedback and screen navigation assistance for visually impaired users, the Application binds to the host operating system's accessibility framework. This integration programmatically reads active screen elements, intercepts directional touch gestures, and monitors application window transitions. The data collected by this process is processed in volatile memory solely to generate immediate text-to-speech output and is destroyed instantly upon execution.

3.2 Notification Monitoring Utility

The Application operates a background notification monitoring component that programmatically scans incoming notification broadcasts. This scan is strictly limited to extracting payment confirmation details from designated financial transaction applications installed on the device. The extracted transaction details (specifically amount and sender identity) are processed in real-time to announce the transaction audibly. None of the monitored notification text is stored or transmitted off the device.

3.3 Package Registry and Foreground Application Inquiries

To configure application-specific speech modifications and determine the active window context, the Application compiles a list of installed launcher applications on the device and queries the foreground application package name. This processing occurs locally and transiently. No application lists or usage statistics are transmitted to the Backend Services or compiled into tracking profiles.

4. Remote Database Synchronization and Cryptographic Standards

The Application allows the User to synchronize private data (including notes, credentials, and web links) with the Backend Services database.

Cryptographic Protections: All synced database tables containing user-specific notes, saved passwords, or links are encrypted at-rest. The cryptographic protocol uses industry-standard symmetrical block cipher encryption algorithms. The encryption key is derived dynamically using a one-way hashing function that combines the User's authenticated email identifier with a private, server-side secret key.

By virtue of this architecture, the contents of the synced databases are rendered mathematically unreadable to third parties, including server administrators and database operators.

5. Device Hardware Permissions and Functional Rationale

The Application requests access to several device hardware interfaces to perform accessibility tasks. The User acknowledges that refusal to grant these permissions will result in the suspension of the corresponding features.

Camera Interface

Utilized to capture visual frames for real-time text recognition, currency denomination analysis, color detection, and assistive framing. Data is processed locally and transiently.

Microphone Interface

Utilized to capture voice inputs for voice typing features, audio recording tools, and screen capture audio layers. Captures are strictly user-initiated.

Geographic Positioning (GPS)

Utilized to determine spatial coordinates to facilitate nearby point-of-interest announcements and navigation assistance.

External Storage Access

Utilized to read, import, and write media files and document files for local conversion, editing, and playback features.

6. Background Execution and Foreground Services

To prevent execution termination by the operating system's resource management subsystems, the Application utilizes background execution structures, including system boot receivers, scheduling alarms, wake locks, and foreground services. These services are classified as follows:

  • Media Playback Services: Utilized to maintain uninterrupted audio or streaming playback in the background.
  • Location Tracking Services: Utilized to maintain continuous geographic coordinate updates during walking assistance when the display is inactive.
  • Media Projection Services: Utilized to capture screen displays during user-instructed screen recording or remote assistance sessions.
  • Short-Duration Services: Utilized to trigger scheduled time announcements and task reminders.
  • Specialized Foreground Services: Utilized to stabilize the text-to-speech process and maintain active notification listener bindings.

7. Transient Remote Processing and Connected Services

Certain advanced features of the Application (including automated text formatting, scene analysis, image generation, and remote OCR) require remote computational processing. When these features are invoked, the Application packages the user-selected text, images, or audio clips and transmits them securely via HTTPS to remote processing servers. This data is transmitted solely to perform the requested computational transformation and is not retained or used for user profiling by the Service Provider.

8. Data Retention, Revocation, and Deletion Rights

The User retains control over all data synchronized with the Backend Services database.

  • Revocation: The User may at any time revoke system permission grants via the device's operating system settings.
  • Deletion: The Application provides interface controls allowing the User to delete individual synced items or execute a comprehensive database wipe. Upon execution of a deletion command, the corresponding encrypted records are purged immediately and permanently from Backend Services.

10. Contact and Inquiries

For formal legal inquiries, clarifications regarding data processing, or to request manual deletion of remaining administrative logs, the User may contact the Service Provider through the support channels established inside the Application.
